| Workshops |
Workshops offered by FVQ are a perfect opportunity to advance one’s quilting skills while having some fun and making new friends among fellow quilters. Workshops are lead by specialists in some element of quilting. Many of these quilters designed or developed the skill they teach themselves. Members bring their sewing machines plus any supplies identified by the teacher. During the day they follow the close instruction of the teacher and create beautiful works of art. Some members bring a boxed lunch to workshops, others get take out. We’ll have soda and water and cookies or snacks on hand to keep us going while learning the new skill. |

Future Workshops to look forward to... Karen Loprete March 22, 2012 - Scrap Happy Workshop with Karen Loprete Create something new, use what you have already learned from your own work, continue experimenting, and HAVE FUN. Karen will be teaching her "Round the Bend" method of sewing 1 inch wide fabric strips sewn into a circular shape. www.karenloprete.com Gwen Marston April 19, 2012 - Small Studies This class is built on the idea of exploring abstract design by making small studies. Just as painters use sketches to explore possibilities, fabric sketches are for working things out; for learning new techniques, exploring color and composition. They are your ticket to play, and to develop your own aesthetics in a safe, worry free space. Making sketches is like taking a crash course in design. http://gwenmarston.com |
